Days of Air Frost – Annual Average
Air frost is closely related to both altitude and sea temperature.  The strip of land in close proximity to the coast has been subject to fewest instances of air frost during the baseline period and clear incrementally increasing bands can be seen with progressive movement inland. The highest instances of air frost occur in the uplands of Weardale and the Cheviot Hills.
