Percentage Change in Snow (Winter Average)
All sub-regions experience a large reduction in the amount of snow falling in winter.

The smallest change is around a 44% reduction, seen in south-west County Durham. The largest change is in south-east Tees Valley, where the average snow fall is reduced by around 52%. The coastal locations and areas with a greater concentration of urban land use appear to experience a greater reduction in the amount of snow fall when compared to the higher, less developed ground to the west.
