Percentage Change in Wind (Annual Average)
The change in annual average wind speed is very small throughout the study area.

Coastal locations experience a reduction in wind speed which is most significant along the Northumberland coastline. The greatest reduction in wind speed is in north Northumberland, at around 0.8%. The coastal regions of Tyne & Wear, County Durham and Tees Valley experience smaller reductions.  Further inland, there is an increase in wind speed of around 0.5%. The greatest increase in wind speed (around 0.7%) occurs in south west County Durham.
